Perhaps Love Season 2 with Lee Kwang Soo Starts Airing July 2

Lee Kwang Soo made headlines back in April when he was seen filming a reality dating show called “Perhaps Love” aka “If You Love”. At that time, the chinese remake of We Got Married was about to air so there were lots of confusion and erroneous reports saying that Kwangsoo was appearing on that show. Compared to We Got Married, Perhaps Love is centered around dating instead of marriage and 2PM’s Changsung and Miss A’s Fei were previous participants of the show while 2PM’s Nichkun made a guest appearance.

The show is described as a script-free, romantic idol drama that’s made up of real life top stars. There is no cheesy plots and you only see the genuine sincere feelings of the stars. Viewers will be able to watch as the stars get to know each other, fall in love and go through what a real couple would feel including the happy and bitter times.

For the second season,  the producer says that she is hoping to create china’s most authentic and most romantic show. There will be no rules or restrictions and allows a chance for the stars to choose their own partners. Since the show is acting like a “matchmaker” the producer hopes that through this show, the members can find their life long partner.

In Season 2 of Perhaps Love “Asia’s Prince” Lee Kwangsoo have partnered up with fashionista and supermodel Lynn Hong. Both standing at towering heights attract attention no matter where they go. Netizens have already named them the tallest couple. This marks Lee Kwang Soo’s first time in a chinese show.

Asia’s sexy goddess Christy Chung is paired with hottie Golden (張倫碩) forming the pair with the hugest age gap of 12 years. Christy Chung is a single mother of three but despite her age, she is still as gorgeous as other girls half her age. She is of vietnamese-chinese descent and can speak five different languages.

In the first segment of the show, she brings her daughter on the show to let daughter personally choose her boyfriend for her. Christy said that she will consistently keep her daughter’s feeling in first place.

The final couple is sweetie Lemon (张檬) paired with the youngest member in the show Kris Fan (范世琦). Now the other major rumor going around was that Kris Wu Yi Fan, EXO’s ex-member was going to be on this show. They both have similar english names but their chinese name is drastically different so I don’t know how that rumor started to get mixed up.

Lemon and Kris have been dubbed as the most compatible couple as they have repeatedly shown perfect teamwork during the show’s challenges and understood each other very well.

I am actually surprised that all the pairs on the show ended up with the female being older than their male counterpart. Although the show says that they hoped the members would end up dating in real life, I highly doubt that would happen. For one, it would be difficult for Lee Kwang Soo to overcome his language barrier with Lynn Hong on top of the long distance relationship. In last season’s show, Sunny Wang and Zhang Li did indeed become a real couple off-screen however, they ended up breaking up later on.

As of right now, my most favorite couple would be the Lee Kwang Soo and Lynn Hong pair. Unlike the materialistic fashionista that she portrayed in a drama, she is very much a sweet girl. I was watching “Hurry up, Brother”, the chinese remake of the popular korean variety show “Running Man”, where Lynn guest starred in an episode, I was surprised to find that she was meek and not diva-like. Her laughter and behavior on the show made me feel that she was just like other young twenties just starting off in the entertainment business. Unlike other females who appear on the show and go all out pulling other girl’s hair, she was more reserved and was overall a polite lady. Since it’s so difficult to find someone with a height that can match Kwangsoo’s I think they match very perfectly. I’m looking forward to seeing how this pair would interact.

As for the other guests, I have no idea who they are aside for Kristy Chung. I remember seeing Kristy in a cantonese movie when I was young and adored her so much because she was such a goddess. Although she gained some weight compared to her twenties, she is still a goddess and maintained her image as a sex symbol in the entertainment business.

If you are a 2PM fan, there’s good news because Chansung makes a guest appearance on the show as there are stills of him with the rest of the cast.

Perhaps Love is a joint production between Hubei TV and CJ E&M. It starts airing July 2 on a weekly basis on thurs.

Btw caricatures have been the recent trend as several chinese dramas have made caricatures posters of their leads and Perhaps Love seemed to have hopped on the bandwagon.

Are you excited to see Kwangsoo in a dating show?

    • yeah that’s true. There’s not enough of a fan base to translate the whole series and when you upload it to site like youtube, it’s usually removed due to copyright issue. I actually tried to sub a 1 hour video on my own and it took me a couple days to sub it.
