The episode opens up with Yi Chen and manager Mun Wen meeting up to discuss about how to handle her divorce. They just so happened to be in the same restaurant that Xiao Hong was having her blind date at. When she got up to reapply her makeup, she bumped into manager Mun Wen and they start arguing.
Mo Sheng, hearing the commotion walks over to stop the argument. Seeing her walk over, Yi Chen instantly brightens up and wants to say hi however the manager blurted out that Mo Sheng would have a better chance getting a partner at this blind date than Xiao Hong would and told her to forget about marry. Realizing that Mo Sheng was at the restaurant for a blind date, Yi Cheng’s face hardened and excused himself, leaving and asking to meet up with the manager at a different time.
Back at the table, Xiao Hong is in tears, revealing that the manager had snatched her exboyfriend from her but when he got into a car accident, breaking his legs, she abandoned him to marry a rich man. Even when that ex heard that she was getting a divorce, he still wanted to reunite with her. Xiao Hong complained that she knew she was ugly but she has a genuine heart and couldn’t understand why Mun Wen would deserve such good luck.
The Blind dates arrived and Xiao Hong quickly wiped away her tears smiling brightly. The two dates were obviously more into Mo Sheng asking her questions but Mo Sheng was in a daze, thinking about the time she was in college and telling her friends how she met Yi Cheng the first time.
Yi Cheng is in his car with a disheartened face thinking about his college days.
He is at the dorm and his roommates are telling him that Mo Sheng is so tenacious to chase after him for so many days. The young Xiang Hen then tells him that he will be free in a couple more days because Mo Sheng had asked him if she has been a bother to him and it looked liked she was about to give. He told Yi Cheng that if he has feelings for her, he should change his attitude.
It flashes back to the present and Yi Cheng calls Xiang Hen out for a drink. Xiang Hen arrives at the bar, claiming that he was so surprised that Yi Cheng would ask him out for a drink. While he continues to talk, Yi Cheng just sits there gulping down alcohol. He heard news that Yi Cheng got a girlfriend and congratulates him, even guessing correctly that the his girlfriend was Mo Sheng. However at the mention of Mo Sheng, Yi Cheng leaves and says the bill is on him and he will call out another colleague to drink with him.
The blind date, Doctor Zhao walks Mo Sheng home and then leaves.
While Mo Sheng walks up the stairs, sensing that someone is there, she turns around and Yi Cheng pops out of the darkness, pushes her against the wall, forcing a kiss on her as Mo Sheng struggles against him. Mo Sheng finally gets to turn her head away from Yi Cheng. While he is holding her, Yi Cheng mutters under his breath, that he has lost. After all these years, he has lost to her. Mo Sheng asks if he is drunk. He says he’s not drunk but has become insane and walks away, leaving Mo Sheng standing in dark. He really did look insane with his tie loosened and his shirt all rumpled up. It’s unlike the tidy Yi Cheng we’ve seen before.
The next day, Mo Sheng is out with Xiao Hong shopping for clothes. Mo Sheng is in a daze while they were shopping. Xiao Hong asked Mo Sheng if the man that showed up at the magazine studio asking for her last time, was the man who was eating with the manager. Mo Sheng said it was but says that she’s not in a relationship with him.
When they get back to the magazine studio, they find a mess. Creditors of Mun Wen’s husband had came to threaten her to pay for her husband’s loan.
At the law firm, Yi Cheng is obviously not focusing too well. Xiang Hen picked up on it and asked about Mo Sheng but Yi Cheng declined to talk about anything not related to work.
As they were walking out for lunch, they picked up on their employee’s conversation that sounded similar to Yi Cheng and Mo Sheng’s relationship:
associate1: I didn’t even break up with him for more than 3 months and he is already going on blind dates.
Mei Ting: The problem is not time but whether you still like him or not. If you do like him, then you should recover your love.
Associate1: I don’t even know if I still love him or not.
Mei Ting: You always have been complaining about your boyfriend. You keep on thinking that he is the one who chased after you first so he should be the one to please you. If you still have feelings for him, then you should take the initative.
Associate1: Take the Initiative? Then I won’t have any pride left.
Mei Ting: If you are still trying to keep you pride, you will regret later on.
They stop when they see their bosses walking over. Xiang Hen tells them to continue with their conversation but then stops Yi Cheng from leaving so he could indirectly lecture Yi Cheng on what he should do regarding his love life. Xiang He tells associate1 that Mei Ting is right and that if she still have feelings for the guy, she needs to be proactive because the person will not follow you for the rest of you life. He then asks for Yi Cheng’s opinion. Yi Cheng evades the questions and says to go get lunch but seemed to be deeply thinking about the entire conversation.
It’s the end of the day and Lou Yuan drops by Yi Cheng’s office. Yi Cheng is staring off into space but when prompted about leaving, Yi Cheng says he’s getting off work for some problematic and urgent matter and swiftly leaves. This surprises Lou Yuan because Yi Cheng usually stays and works overtime.
Mo Sheng is just finishing up with her work and seeing that there is nothing in the fridge, she heads out for the supermarket but finds Yi Cheng waiting for her at the entrance of her building. Yi Cheng has a warm smile on his face and asks if she can accompany him for a walk.
Mo Sheng follows Yi Cheng to the bus stop where Yi Cheng asks her for spare change. They then board the bus and of course when she falls over when the bus moves and Yi Cheng holds her arm, steadying her.
They arrive at a empty looking street prompting her to ask Yi Cheng where they were. Yi Cheng says its Old North Street and it brings back memories to the days where they were dating and buying food from street vendors but now all the food carts are gone, surprising Mo Sheng since everything looked so different. Yi Cheng looked a bit annoyed that Mo Sheng hadn’t paid a visit to these places for old times sake, which Mo Sheng replied that she didn’t have the time to. I was so afraid that Yi Cheng would give up thinking Mo Sheng doesn’t care about their past but thankfully Yi Cheng says he understands.
They sit at a bench where they are reminded of their past. Yi Cheng makes Mo Sheng to run more a for healthy lifestyle. Mo Sheng tells him he remembers the young Yi Cheng criticizing Mo Sheng for running so slow saying “How did you catch me (as your boyfriend) when you run so slow”. While they are sitting there, they recognize a professor and Yi Cheng chats with him. Yi Cheng later tells Mo Sheng that the professor recognizes her and they are reminded of her infamous incident where the professor asks Mo Sheng what to do with the criminals in which Mo Sheng says to lock them all up, causing laughter in the entire class. She had asked Yi Cheng for help with the question but Yi Cheng says he wasn’t listening. At that time, Mo Sheng felt that Yi Cheng was being petty and didn’t tell her the answer because he was angry over at her. They had argued over a phone number where Yi Cheng refused to give Mo Sheng his phone number. Yi Cheng reveals that he truly wasn’t listening that day because he was bothered by their argument. Glad misunderstandings are clearing up one by one.
Yi Cheng then takes Mo Sheng home where Yi Cheng tells her he was sorry for yesterday’s incident. Mo Sheng tells him not to worry about it because he was drunk. Yi Cheng answers “is that so” which raises the question of whether he was drunk or not yesterday. He then goes up to Mo Sheng, kisses her and says, I have always been sober. He is directly hinting that he always knew what he was doing and he wants to be with her.
Lu Yuan Feng is missing from work and it turns out he is accompanying Xiao Xiao to take pictures at a rural village.
While they are traversing through the village, we see Xiao Xiao enjoying the countryside while the city boy Yuan Feng look a bit uncomfortable.
As Yuan Feng was taking pictures, he seemed to to have discovered a new image of Xiao Xiao.
Xiao Xiao later reveals that this is her hometown and she came to promote it that’s why both of them weren’t getting paid for this job. Xiao Xiao says that her hometown is such a poor area and that she prefers her city life more in which Yuan Feng recognizes her stubbornness. She obviously loves her hometown that’s why she would makes such a long trip back to her village.
Only after watching it second time did I pick up that Yi Cheng was happy to see Mo Sheng at the restaurant. He got mad and left the restaurant when he heard she was at a blind date. Before I felt that he got mad because he felt that Mo Sheng was heartless and is always looking for a boyfriend. But the second time I watched it I realized he loved Mo Sheng and was afraid to watch Mo Sheng go to a different man so he left.
